joungerkidsclassesCreative Art classes – for 4 to 6 year olds

In 12 classes of 60 minutes, we are going to playfully explore the impact of colours and shapes of the world that surrounds us. It is a class that allows the little ones to experiment with a wide choice of materials to express their imagination through painting, gluing, building, printing, etc. The classes are Tuesday afternoons from 14.45 to 15.45 and parents are welcome to participate and share the creative experience of their children. This class has a max. number of 8 participants.

Creative Art classes – for 7 to 12 year olds

In 12 classes of 90 minutes, we are still playfully exploring the impact of colours and shapes of the world that surrounds us, adapted to this age group. The children are encouraged to find their own expression through experiments with different materials, techniques and styles. The practical part of the course is essential but we will be also discussing other examples of art and our own creations and as such learn how to talk about art and learn from each others experiences. The classes are on Tuesday afternoon from 16.00 to 17.30 and have a max. number of 12 participants.

classesaThe classes are beginning on Tuesday 20th September 2016 and taking the autumn holidays into account, will go through to Tuesday 13th December 2016.

The course fees are 240 Euros for the art classes – for 4 to 6 year olds (for a set of 12 classes) and 260 Euros for the art classes – for 7 to 12 year olds (for a set of 12 classes) and include all materials. There is a sibling’s discount of 40 Euros on the total sum and an early bird price of 200 Euro / 220 Euro if the course is booked and the course fees are transferred before the 5th August. Otherwise the fee is payable on subscription and I hope you do understand that refunds will not be available. The participants should wear clothes that can get dirty or should bring an apron that protects their clothing.

Should you have any further questions or should you be also interested in creative classes for adults or teenagers, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,
Sonja

Creative Summer Art Classes for Children – 2016

Are you looking for a creative art class for your children in which their imagination is encouraged to blossom, in which they can unwind from the pressure of daily school life and where they can learn to express themselves visually in colours, shapes and forms?

During two weeks from the 4th July until the 8th July and the 18th July to 22nd July I am offering again a class from 10.00h – 12.00h for children aged 6 – 12 years old.

UntitledIn the classes the children are encouraged to experiment with different materials and express themselves on paper, on canvas or three dimensionally. The great advantage of a week long workshop is that bigger art projects can be worked on in a continuous flow. And I hope the weather will also allow us to work outside, which permits a different perspective than the usual classroom atmosphere and leads to new inspirations! The class has a small participants number and therefore allows individual tuition.

The course fee is 150 Euros for the set of 5 art classes and includes all materials and a drink & small snack. The fee is payable on subscription and I hope you do understand that refunds will not be available. The participants should wear clothes that can get dirty or should bring an apron that protects their clothing.

Should you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. And please feel free to share the course info with your friends.

Creative art class for children – New Spring Date

kids classes cAre you looking for a creative class for your children in which their imagination is encouraged to blossom, in which they can unwind from the pressure of daily school life and where they can learn to express themselves visually in colours, shapes and forms? The new season kids classes for children aged 6 – 12 years old, are starting on the 16th February and early bird prices are available until the 22nd January.

In order to provide the children with plenty of time for their creations and experimentation, and also to give enough time for the group review process, in which the children learn to express themselves about their works and working processes verbally, I have decided this season, to try out a new timing of 2h for each class. This will really allow us to explore all the materials and new techniques thoroughly.

kidsclassesThe 12 weeks course takes place in cooperation with parent initiative from Weimershof on Tuesday afternoons from 15.00 – 17.00 and will be closed during Luxembourgish and European school holidays.

The course fee is 260 Euros and includes all materials. There is a sibling’s discount of 40 Euros on the total sum and an early bird price of 220 Euro if the course is booked and the course fees are transferred before the 22nd January. Otherwise the fee is payable on subscription and I hope you do understand that refunds will not be available. The participants should wear clothes that can get dirty or should bring an apron that protects their clothing.

Vive la rentrée – Newsletter September – Returning to a new creative season at home

The nice thing about returning home from the holidays is that you can take a fresh start with new impressions from the outside – for example on the decoration at home, getting your wardrobes sorted, preparing the kids for the return of school and sometimes enjoying the blissful return to daily routine that the start of school provides. After a busy summer with the family, finding a spot of time dedicated to yourself!
I know – I will be dancing on Tuesday morning and happily escaping upstairs to my studio 🙂 to continue my works of the summer (see above). If you feel you need a bit of creative down time for yourself, I have two nice programmes on offer!

This seasons “Boost your creativity” classes are starting again next week and I still have a few spaces on Friday morning. Rather than being technical in nature, each class is designed to help you playfully create whilst “keeping your inner critic in gear” and to find new ways to bring art & creativity back into your everyday life.

The villageIf you would like to take some creative time out, spending a weekend creating and making your own art, concentrating on your own artistic projects and development in a beautiful environment not far from Luxembourg, than you should join us for the fantastic weekend retreat from the 20th – 22nd November. I can ensure you, it will bring the creative spark back into your life!

kids classes dAnd if you feel your children need another creative outlet apart from school where under professional guidance they can explore a wide variety of techniques and materials, you will be happy to hear that there are still spaces for all age groups in the creative kids art classes on Tuesday afternoons starting again the 22nd September.

The return to routine always needs a bit of time, and if you are looking for some inspirational fun on a weekend there is the BAFF Festival at Carré Rotondes on the 20th September where I am organising some fun & free creative workshops for all ages. Please check their FB site for all further details.

I am wishing you and your families a gentle & inspirational start into the new season! May we still have many sunny days to come and may we meet for one or the other occasion before the autumn fully starts,

What a fabulous summer – Newsletter August

business2What a fabulous summer we have had so far and for some of us we are only half way through the summer holidays. Yeah!! The summer kids art classes were great fun and we could work lots outside. We have had a few sessions of “Art in the Park” where we could create fun art works in the evening sun and even during my latest “Creative sparks 4 Businesses” (see above) we could work partly outside. Let us hope there are some more beautiful days to come! But even if the cooler days are ahead of us I have put together a fun, bright programme of nice classes for all ages. And I am currently researching locations for a relaxing & creative weekend workshop in November. So please stay tuned!

The time to work on my own artistic projects is always quite limited and I feel the same pressure that most of you deal with. When we finally make the time to create something, it first takes a while to get back into the flow of the painting or creation process in general. But if we stick to it, it is so worth the effort, we are overall happier, have spent more mindful time with ourselves and in most cases, we have created new beautiful objects or paintings.
If you want to use the rentrée to bring more creativity into your life, than join us in the new “Boost your creativity” classesI am offering on Thursday evening and Friday mornings starting on the 17th September. The spaces are filling up fast, so please get into touch soon in order to avoid disappointment.

kids classes dIf you want to provide your children with a creative time-out every Tuesday afternoon, over a 12 week period, there are still spaces for all ages in the kids art classes that I organise in co-operation with a parent initiative from Weimershof.
The aim of the classes is to provide the children with inspiration and materials to express themselves in all different kind of media.

There are always new co-operations and partnerships coming up. On the 20th September I will organise for the Bicycle Art & Film Festival another Plasticine animation workshop at Carré Rotondes and some further fun projects still to be discussed. For the registration and further information please check their web site in the coming weeks.

cutoutglassFor those of you who have already experienced the, “Boost your creativity”, classes once or twice 😉 – you will be happy to know that there will be new“Playful creative discovery” classes starting on the 12th November. I will update my website regarding these classes on our return from the holidays in September.

In September I also celebrate the end of my second year as independent artist and arts educator. Time to say a big thank you to all of you that have purchased some of my art works, that have come to my classes again and again and that have entrusted me to guide the creative souls of your children in their artistic development. It has been a fantastic experience! And I raise my glass to more fun to come!
Wishing you and your families a fabulous end of the summer and that we meet again soon!

The sunny days …

… not only brought lots more light but also plenty of change! I am the very happy owner of a new small atelier in town and could not be more excited about it. By the end of the summer season I am planning to organise an open Atelier weekend and will keep you posted about the details a bit closer to the date.

Our AMUSE Lux exhibition at Pianos Kelly is slowly coming to an end and we would like to invite you to our Finissage on the 29th March from 10.00 – 13.00 where you have once more the opportunity to talk with us artists about our inspiration, enjoy the lovely surroundings with a glass of cremant and maybe purchase a new piece of art for your home.

playfullThe “Boost your creativity” classes have been tremendous fun again and I am already a bit sad to see them end after this week. But fear not, new dates are at hand and I will start a new set of “Playful discovery art classes – creating an artistic habit” on the 7th and 8th May. Over a 5 week period we will be exploring new, fun artistic exercises and techniques that you can develop after the classes further at home too.

The next Plasticine Animation workshop for Adults & Kids on Saturday 28th March 3pm – 4.30pm still has a few available places, please drop me a line if you want to join us spontaneously!

And even though the kids classes are in full swing right now – I am already planning this years Summer Art Classes.  For all details and dates watch this space in my next newsletter.

Wishing you all creative and sunny days and looking forward to seeing you on one of the above occasions!

Merry Christmas & happy New Year

Today is my last class for the season and I would like to use the opportunity to thank you for the interest and participation in my art & classes, may it be by yourself or your children! I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope the feeling was mutual! I now look forward to a few weeks in which I will recharge the batteries, by painting myself and reading lots of new interesting books on creativity and art  – and hope we will meet soon again in 2014!

Wishing you and your families a very merry Christmas and all the best for a happy New Year!

New dates – for Adults & Kids workshops – being creative on a cold afternoon

Following on from the fun and success of the first two creative sessions with adults and children I have now set up new dates for January, February and March 2014.

I am offering Sunday afternoon classes from 15.00 – 16.30h in which parents can enjoy the creative process together with their children. Children have an unlimited amount of creative potential and with the classes I like to encourage parents to engage in creative projects together with their children in order enjoy this potential in a hands on way. The aim of the workshop is not necessarily to create one final object or project in 1.5 hours, but  to provide inspiration and practical guidance for further creative afternoons that parents, or grand parents can spend with their children, or grand children.

Parentsandkids2On the 19th January we are starting off with the project “Theatre of life” where we will be building and playing with a theatre scene. In order to get an idea what you can expect, please don’t miss out on the film of a previous project like that in the footer of this site. The next date on the 9th February will be dedicated to building a big paper object and last but not least on the 2nd March inspired by Isabelle de Borchgrave’s work of creating & recreating the most amazing costumes and accessories out of paper we will tackle a costume or accessories project together.

You can book the set of three classes for 120 Euros including all materials, or book the classes individually for 45 Euros a session. The classes are limitted to 7 adults plus one child, so please do reserve fast in order to avoid disappointment.  The course fee is payable on subscription or latest in full when the course commences and I hope you do understand that refunds will not be available.

The participants should wear clothes that can get dirty or should bring an apron that protects their clothing.

Should you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Adults & Kids workshops – being creative on a cold afternoon – now fully booked – but more dates coming soon

kids class collectionThe cooler days outside also bring along something positive, we can take more time to do things inside with our loved ones, playing family games, baking, crafting and along this line my two Sunday afternoon workshops on the 24th November and the 8th December from 15.00 – 16.30, want to encourage the adults & children to work creatively on a project together. The aim is not necessarily to create one final object or project in 1.5 hours, but I rather want to provide inspiration and practical guidance for further creative afternoons that parents, or grand parents can spend with their children, or grand children.

The first Sunday is dedicated  to the creation of a recycled object or animal and if you want to bring some of the materials that inspire you for that from home, you are very welcome to it. Essentially though all needed materials are provided and included in the course fee of 40 Euros for one child & one adult. I recommend that both adult and child should wear protective or old clothing, specifically for the first workshop.

Now fully booked – The second Sunday we will be exploring the possibilities of colorful plasteline as a basis for a small animated video. For this workshop you don’t need previous technical knowledge, but the use of a smart phone and a specific app is necessary. The details will be send to you following the subscription. The course fee is 40 Euros for one child & one adult. As the places are limited, please subscribe early in order to prevent disappointment.
