Art in the Park – During the summer holidays embrace the summer evenings in all its glory & create and draw outside

The idea for “Art in the park” developed during one adults class where participants wondered how they could continue with their creative activities also during the long summer months where I traditionally didn’t have art classes. We came up with the idea to meet on beautiful summers evenings in Parc Merl and to paint and draw together there.

This class used be determined by good weather! – On Sunday evenings I check the weather forecast for the week and send a suggestion out for the coming week to a subscribers list (in order to be on the list, just quickly drop me an e-mail with the note – art in the park). Particpants who want to join, reply and like that confirm their participation. I will bring all needed materials and painting boards and charge 45 Euros for the 2h session.

Participants are invited to bring a comfy cushion, water and or wine – and I am sure we will also this year spend some fun and creative summer nights.
In case the weather forecast for the week is not reliable, we now can take refuge at my atelier.

Looking forward to a creative & beautiful summer!

Summer Art Classes for Teenagers & Young Adults – 2018

This summer I am offering again a summer art class for teenagers and young adults that love art and would like to be encouraged to think and work off the beaten track. We will be exploring how to develop ideas and work with a sketch book, brush up on a few basic art skills that help to get on with the realisation of creative projects and we will try to push boundaries that we encounter. We will be discussing the meaning of art and also exploring works of contemporary artists. Learning to express what matters to us and how to transmit that through works of art.

(C) Creation of J. Mollgard 2016

The summer art class will provide a fun, daily 2h atelier environment in which the students are encouraged to work, think and discuss about a given subject, that ideally they also will work on a bit at home in the afternoon. The participants will be encouraged to work with a sketchbook and how to use it for their idea development and will be drawing, painting & building. The idea is to provide the participants with an intensive creative experience that widens their perspective in a safe & pressure free environment, with feedback and encouragement to test and experiment with a choice of artistic materials and techniques. The course will also be an ideal starting point for all students thinking about a possible creative career and that need to prepare a portfolio in the long run.

The class is taking place in Belair daily from the 23rd July to the 27th July from 10.00 – 12.00. The course fee is 200 Euros per week and includes a sketchbook and all further materials. As the places will be limited please do book early in order to avoid disappointment.

“Express your colour” – Painting workshop for adults March 2018

This fun and expressive painting workshop over six classes is structured around the discovery of different colours & art materials as aquarelle colours, ink, acrylics, crayons etc. It is a class in which we will creatively explore the painting possibilities of the materials, in order to identify individual preferences that will put the participants on a path to develop their own personal style.
The explorative way in which we will use the materials is great for beginners but also for experienced artists a like, as a new use of colours and materials can unblock those who have been stuck in rut for a while. The participants will be encouraged to trust themselves and their painting process and will learn to creatively react to challenges that might appear on their paths.

The workshops take place in Weimershof on Thursday evenings from 19.45 – 21.15 (on the following dates: 1.3/8.3/15.3/22.3/19.4/26.4) or on Friday mornings from 10.00 – 11.30 (on the following dates: 2.3/9.3/16.3/22.3/20.4/27.4).

The course fee for the set of 6 classes is 270€ and includes all materials. In order to book the classes or in case you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me and please feel free to share the information with your friends.

From “surface to substance” – a new art workshop for adults starting on the 11th January

In this art workshop over 5 weeks we will be exploring the possibilities of leaving the flat surface as an art medium and we will playfully discover how to express ourselves three dimensionally with materials as varied as paper, carton, clay, wire, plaster, recycling materials, etc. The workshops are planned as inspirational sessions to broaden our artistic perspectives and to experiment with sculptural processes.

It is a workshop that can work as an eye opener and inspiration for artists that feel stuck in their routine but it is equally great for beginners to connect to their inner artist and to experience how fun it can be to make and build things.
No advance knowledge or experience is required, just the openness to playfully create will be an advantage.

The workshops take place in Weimershof on Thursday evenings from 19.45 – 21.15 (on the following dates: 11.1/18.1/25.1/8.2/22.2) or on Friday mornings from 10.00 – 11.30 (on the following dates: 12.1/19.1/26.1/9.2/23.2).

The course fee for the set of 5 classes is 225€ and includes all materials. In order to book the classes or in case you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me and please feel free to share the information with your friends.
